Emotional Support Animal Housing Letters

Minnesota and Wisconsin only

Pet Connections was founded due to the need for legitimate support for people with mental health challenges who benefit from Emotional Support Animals (ESA).

Pet facilitated therapies have been practiced effectively for centuries. Initially, the informal relationships between animals and people created a type of therapeutic bond. Once animals were domesticated a more formal type of bond was created. One that included a relationship which relied on community, companionship and responsibility. We now have formal therapeutic relationships with our pets and other animals.

These formal pet facilitated therapies include: services animals, animal assisted therapy, facility therapy and emotional support animal therapy.

Unfortunately, the people intended to benefit from an ESA are sometimes unable to bring their pets to new housing when they move because of pet restrictions.

Why Pet Connections?

What we offer…

…individualized ESA letters which document the need for your animal based only on the emotional support they offer you. No information can be provided about specific animals, breeds or species as it is beyond this provider’s scope of practice.

How are we different…

we are licensed providers who will assess your relationship with animals and how historically their presence has aided you in supporting positive mental health practices. Each letter is unique and specific to your needs and history.

How does it work…

…email us at via the contact page below. We will send you a form to fill-out and return. If the information you provide related to your symptoms, history and relationships to animals in the past/present justifies having an ESA, we will proceed to the next step.

Our approach to ESA letters

You reach out to Pet Connections. We’ll send you our intake forms via encrypted portals.

Phone Interview

If your mental health symptoms and history of receiving emotional support from a pet justify moving forward, we will set-up a brief phone call for answering questions and gathering additional information.

Could I be rejected

Yes, if your symptoms and history do not support the need for an ESA we will not proceed. This is why the fee structure is so important. If you don’t qualify, you have only invested $25 in the process.

Letter Written and Sent

An individualized letter will be written and sent to you on the practitioner’s letterhead with a signature and license information.

How long before I receive my letter

You could receive your letter in as little as 30 days if you complete each step as indicated.

Total Fees

The total amount charged for your letter is $150. This includes $25 due before forms are sent, $50 due before phone interview and $75 due before letter is written and sent. Total due $150.
